Countries of The World Songs: A.K.A. a little friendly competition (where everyone wins a movie period the last class before March Break!)
If your child is in grade 4, 5, or 6 you may have heard this little song A LOT: "United States, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Haiti, Jamaica, Peru...etc.".
We listened to the song and talked very generally about maps changing over time. We also identified techniques used to execute rapid rhythms with precision (practice, use muscle groups efficiently, and relax!).
We noticed several countries were missing from the original version, and briefly discussed that. This discussion prompted a further search which uncovered a 2021 version of the song which is much more, if not entirely, correct for February 2025. Here a links to the original and the 2021 versions.
